This forum has been up and running a little while now and to date we haven't had any posts on the Reiki & Shamanism Forum. In the past few weeks I've been gifted and "come across" several beautiful crystals. For those of you who have visited my teaching premises you will know I have crystals all over, bringing lovely earth energy into my home. I believe crystals come to the owner synchronistically and am always intrigued as to what they can do to for a person's energies.

Shamans have traditionally had an affinity with crystals and rocks, using them as power tools for healing, protection, amplifying energy and meditation. So I thought why not introduce a forum post by touching on something which resonates with me so deeply. Perhaps it will inspire others to talk about the healing properties of crystals which are meaningful to them.

Today I was gifted the most beautiful piece of red Jasper from Celia, bless you my friend, what a gift! It coincided with me thinking yesterday evening that I could do with a lovely red stone to meditate with, and Celia and the Universe provided! It's such a grand piece and reminds me of Uluru in Australia with its red earthiness.

Red Jasper has many properties. It is thought to imbue the user with a positive outlook, oxygenate the blood, and energise the body, having a strong affinity with the root chakra. It brings vitality, enthusiasm, strong will power, physical well being. A protective and grounding stone, (always useful for healing practitioners – in fact I could probably do a post on protective and grounding stones alone!). It is a stone for inspiring new beginnings through creativity and the active use of artistic talents. Indigenous cultures revered Jasper as a highly sacred stone, one which allowed astral travel to commence and ensured safe travel during your astral journeys. It is thought to assist in dream recall. Sounds like I’m going to have some fun with this stone!

I’ve taken to putting stones in my baths recently and letting their energies affect the water, but meditating with a crystal is another wonderful way for them to communicate their wisdom to you. Of course you can also wear them as jewellery. There are many ways of working with these wonderful energetic beings from the mineral kingdom. I look forward to hearing how you use crystals in your healing and energy work and which ones are your favourites.

With crystal blessings! Sarah :happy

Hello Sarah

I have worked with crystals for several years and, like you, have a collection. I use them intuitively on myself and others to balance and shift energy but I also use them for guidance. I love to look into them and write down what I see - this applies particularly to clear quartz and citrine which sparkle like the sun and each time you look at them you see something different. To get a message I sit with a crystal and set the intention that I am open to receive any message which the crystal has to give me for my highest good. Sometimes I 'go into' the crystal and get a guided tour receiving guidance at each twist and turn.

Anyone who has worked with crystals will understand but for those who have never experienced their powerful healing this might seem a bit strange and I would encourage you to seek out a quality crystal supplier and try it for yourself.

Some crystals are multi purpose whilst others have one purpose. When using a crystal for the first time I make sure it is properly cleansed and charged and then I use a crystal pendant to find out what it's purpose is. Their uses include healing, meditating, cleansing space, communication, and much more.

I love crystals and give thanks to Mother Earth for all her gifts.

Jan

What a wonderful topic

I have also been "working" with crystals for many years. I started to find them about twenty or so years ago (or more likely they started to find me of course) and I have had a variety of crystal journeys and experiences ever since. They certainly seem to have a way of making themselves and their wishes known. I have ended up taking crystals with me to France, Tibet, Nepal, Egypt, Thailand and numerous places in the UK (often sacred sites) for a day out or a holiday and not always known why ;)

I have had a large crystal collection sitting in my working space in my flat for a while and often when working with clients, or hosting groups we have ended up talking crystals, and I have invariably finished the evening thinking I should do more with crystals though never quite sure what. A few months I had a week or ten days of simply bumping into crystal connections everywhere I went - the man who sold them on the market, random wholesalers, I got invites to rock and gem shows and numerous other "coincidences" . I eventually got the hint from the Universe and started buying crystals in larger quantities and have since been passing them on to interested clients, colleagues and friends, and have put a few on my website to sell. I participated in a health show up at the local university and had a lot of fun talking crystals as so many of the students were interested and were drawn to them (like me initially) without really knowing why...and they could afford a small crystal purchase which was cool as the student budget rarely permits the indulgence of a reiki, hypno or regression session.

The luxury of having a nice size collection in your flat means I get to experience a variety of crystals on a daily and sometimes hourly basis. Today's favourite is a nice big piece of free standing smoky quartz which is wonderful for soaking up negative vibes and for grounding too. It came with me today to a hypno session I did in central London and I have little doubt that it somehow contributed to the fabulous energy in the room which in turn contributed to the equally fabulous feedback from the client afterwards.

I have no idea where my crystal journey is taking me next but it's fun finding out...

Crystalliciously yours
Doug
